Clan Status
Vampire Clans in the Dark Ages are split into two categories, the High Clans and the Low Clans. This distinction is purely political and varies both from Princedom to Princedom and varies vastly across the territories across the world.
The High Clans are those clans who are in the ruling majority, either due to numbers or their practices of siring from the ruling elite. They tend to have greater political influence and often hold Praxis, but are tied to certain societal responsibilities.
In contrast, the Low Clans are those who for their rarity, unsociability or poor fortune are pushed to the fringes of society. They tend to lack political clout but tend to make up for it by having to uphold less stringent social standards and expectations.
In central Europe, the High Clans tend to be those with ties to the Catholic Church, the royal and noble families of various Duchies and Countries, or significant power through numbers or sorcerous might.
Contrastingly in Muslim Iberia the High Clans are those with devoted worshipers of Allah in the majority, as well those with as significant numbers and powerful allies.
