Domains of Carinthia

Domain Information

This information may be considered public knowledge for any character who feels they would have a reason to know it. A character who has never been to Bavaria before may know less than somebody who has dwelt in the area for centuries, but we leave that up to player discretion.

Each Domain has the holder of Praxis mentioned, and the normal location where Court is normally held (if there is one), as well as a brief description. This description, being a summary of public opinion, may be biased!

The Duchy of Carinthia (Right, Purple)
The March of Verona (Left, Red)

The Duchy of Carinthia

Held by: A Council of Princes: Genevieve of Clan Salubri, Zohane Andrea of the Followers of Set, Heraklion of Clan Toreador, and Tanyth of Clan Malkav
Primary Court: Verona

Overview

The domain of Carinthia is held by four Princes who, while they each hold personal territory, divide their authority and responsibility according to the classical theory of the elements. While four people should be a recipe for deadlocks, the council seems—if anything—less prone to dispute than an average group of powerful vampires. Sitting on the border between Bavaria and Italy, the domain appears of great interest to those Ventrue and Lasombra who are undertaking a shadow war for Western Europe; however, whether because the region is relatively sparsely populated, the two groups are currently focused on opposing each other rather than seizing a throne, or some more obscure reason, a representative of neither faction has yet attempted to seize praxis.

Court rotates between the home territories of the four Princes throughout the year based on the element associated with the season. Each of these four courts prioritises or refuses to address business based on their host’s element.

The March of Verona

Held by: Prince Cassandra, Cappadocian, the Oracle of Verona
Primary Court: Verona

Overview

The March of Verona is a Domain few might care to visit in principle, since it lacks any sizable cities and seems to have no interesting culture of its own, and the sheer amount of trade conducted through this Domain is tedious. However, the Court of Verona is a draw in and of itself, a spectacle that many Elders have travelled to at least once over the years.

Attending Court implies, if one is not a resident of the Domain, that one seeks a prophecy from the Prince. She is known for her power of foresight, and should one bring a suitable gift, she is occasionally generous with her visions. To maintain an appropriate atmosphere, attendees other than the Prince are expected to speak no louder than a whisper, while the air is kept thick with incense and the room is adorned with hanging fabrics and plinths to show off some of the Prince’s most appreciated gifts.
