Age and Disciplines
As a kindred gets older, their connection with the powers of the blood changes. From a youthful exuberance and raw power, through to a more nuanced and blended mastery as they grow older.
Neonates are like sledgehammers; they have limited ways in which they can use their Disciplines but their youth lends a great deal of strength to their use of Disciplines. Whenever a neonate uses their Disciplines, their keywords are considered specialisms.
Ancillae have lost some of the raw power that they once held in their younger years, but they have begun to bloom in subtler ways, unearthing variety and depth in their primary Disciplines and even becoming more adept at learning the powers of other clans. Ancillae gain a bonus to all attempts to increase Discipline levels or create/learn new Keywords, whether in Clan or out of Clan.
Pretender and Master Elders have grown their Disciplines over the years and are now very well practised with them, but the superficial powers of the blood hold less interest for them and they have begun to plumb the depths of their blood to uncover the true mastery that comes with such power. These Elders gain a bonus to all attempts to learn or create Masterwords, but can no longer create new Keywords themselves and must learn them from others.
Luminary Elders and Methuselah are beacons of power; what they have forgotten about a Discipline many neonates or ancillae have yet to learn. They have mastered each Discipline individually and now seek to blend their powers of the blood, lending strength from one area to another. These Elders are able to combine keywords from multiple Disciplines, allowing them to create combination powers that draw upon two Disciplines at once, but can no longer create new Masterwords or Keywords themselves.
Ancients are rumoured to be able to create their own Discipline paths.
